Troubleshoot a problem with Haali Media Splitter Haali Media Splitter has stopped working properly.
Haali Media Splitter is a codec. The file name of this codec is SPLITTER.AX.
To try to solve this problem, follow these steps. One step might solve the problem, but if it doesn't, then go on to the next step.
Tap or click to go to the Haali Media website to check for and install SPLITTER.AX updates
Use the regsvr32 command to unregister SPLITTER.AX
If you don't know which program is causing this problem, you can remove SPLITTER.AX from the list of installed codecs by unregistering it.
Warning Disabling SPLITTER.AX will cause any programs that depend on the codec to stop working or lose functionality.
Click the Start button , and then, in the Search box, type Command Prompt. From the list of results, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
At the command prompt, type regsvr32 /u SPLITTER.AX, and then press ENTER. SPLITTER.AX is now unregistered. What should I do if the regsvr32 command fails or returns an error?
If the steps to disable the SPLITTER.AX did not work, you can try renaming the file to disable it.
Tap or click the Start button , and then, in the Search box, type SPLITTER.AX.
In the list of search results, press and hold or right-click SPLITTER.AX, and then tap or click Open file location.
Press and hold or right-click SPLITTER.AX, and then tap or click Rename.
Rename the file (for example, change the name to SPLITTER.AX.old). Remember the file name so you can enable it later if you need to.
You can also try an automatic troubleshooter that can detect problems with some codecs and remove the codecs from your computer.
Download and run the Fix it troubleshooter
