Dipende dove li devi vedere i video. Io preferisco gli Mp4 poi dipende dai codec. Io ho una videocamera in HD e li vedo in Mp4 codec H264, visione ottima anche su TV da 43 pollici FullHD.
Il primo è un po' meglio, Xvid è molto compresso e vederlo su uno shcermo un po' grande si vedrebbero dei difetti, diciamo che grandi differenze non ci sono.
Mentre su un ipod, tablet o pc con monitor piccoli non si noterebbero diferenze.

MP4 meglio degli XVID se sono filmati tratti da videocamera però potresti provare a convertirli in MKV anche questo è un buon codec.

Ciao Wolf, grazie per la risposta.
Il video in questione è "Io sono vendetta", un film del 2016 di Travolta, che ho scaricato dalla rete.
Premesso che entrambi i formati si vedono benissimo sul mio tv 40 pollici FHD, io avrei una preferenza verso l'avi, in quanto il DFR è inferiore a 2 e lo standard deviation inferiore a 1, cioè massima qualità con doppia passata.
Cosa ne pensi?

Io(opinione personale)preferisco lo MKV anche perché è supportato da quasi tutti i lettori e TV ma anche il metodo da te segnalato può andare benissimo se il file è di buona qualità.
