Ciao a tuti, sono nuovo del forum. Ho un problema con il mio computer che ha xp sp3 e un processore dual core. Avevo due banchi ram da 1 gb l'uno, ne ho lasciato uno e l'altro l'ho sostituito con uno nuovo da 2 gb di diversa marca. La scheda madre riceve 2 ddr2 e ddr400. Prima la maschera nera all'inixio durava pochi istanti e mi sembra ci fosse scritto "dual Channel mode" ora invece resta per circa 40 secondi e c'è scritto single channel mode. Poi comunque mi legge 3 gb e non 2. Posso fare qualcosa.

Prima di tutto benvenuto. Le ram in dual channel vanno messe sempre di uguale capacità e frequenza e collocate in parallello sugli slot che di solito hanno il solito colore. Un esempio di dual channel: Gli slot sono 4 perciò due banchi vanno collocati negli slot 1 e 3. Molto probabilmente hai sbagliato l'allocazione della ram aggiunta che anche se è il doppio della prima non sarà mai sfruttata per tutta la sua capacità per il motivo che ti ho scritto sopra. Due gb per XP sono sufficienti a farlo girare in maniera decente.

Salve. I bianchi, vanno installati, secondo una precisa disposizione consigliata dal produttore. Trattandosi di una scheda vecchia, mi meraviglio che riesca a leggere il banco RAM da 2 GB. Solitamente,(parlando di quella scheda) supportano massimo un giga per slot.

Ciao a tutti e grazie per il benvenuto. La scheda ha 4 slot, due blu e due gialli. Non posso sbagliare ad inserire le ram perchè l'attacco non è uguale, inoltre sulla scheda c'è scritto di non usare in contemporanea le ddr2 ed eventuali d400. Sulla schermata iniziale quando caica windows c'è scritto ram 3008 ma in single channel, quindi penso legga 3 gb. Non ho osato acquistare due banchi da 2 gb perchè avevo sentito che schede vecchie e con xp non vedevano se non 3 gb. Se poi usare due banchi da 2 gb può farlo funzionare in dual channel e le prestazioni migliorano ulteriormente, mi andrebbe bene anche se non vede un gb, quindi se usa 3 gb in dual channel pur avendone 4 a disposizione. Dovesse essere che vede 4 gb sarebbe ottimo.

Nel caso tu hai un sistema a 64 BIT, sarebbe un altro discorso.

Ciao wolfestein, scusa per il ritardo nel rispondere, ma per impegni di lavoro non ero a casa. Ho cliccato sull'icona risorse del computer che ho sul desktop e mi appare la maschera dove si può anche abilitare e non il ripristino del computer. Le uniche scritte che vedo relative alla cpu nella scheda generale sono: Intel core 2 (tm)cpu 6420 @ 2.13Ghz 2.05 Ghz , 2,93 Gb di ram.
Non so se queste scritte descrivono se è a 32 o 64 bit.

Fai clic su Start, quindi su Esegui. Digita winmsd.exe, quindi su OK. Se il valore indicato per processore inizia con x86, nel computer è in esecuzione una versione a 32 bit di Windows. Se il valore indicato per processore inizia con IA-64 o AMD64, il computer è in esecuzione una versione a 64 bit

Inizia con x86, quindi non c'è nulla da fare. Forse ho la possibilità di avere una ram usata da 2 gb per provare se, avendo due ram uguali, possa passare al dual channel pur leggendo solo 3 gb anzichè 4.
