Il file Svchost.exe, all'avvio del computer verifica la porzione del Registro di sistema relativa ai servizi al fine di redigere un elenco di servizi da caricare. Ci possono essere più istanze di Svchost.exe contemporaneamente. Ogni sessione Svchost.exe può infatti contenere un gruppo di servizi, il che significa che possono essere eseguiti servizi diversi a seconda di come e dove è stato avviato il file Svchost.exe.
Per visualizzare l'elenco dei servizi in esecuzione in Svchost:
1. Fare clic sul pulsante Start sulla barra delle applicazioni di Windows, quindi scegliere Esegui.
2. Nella finestra di dialogo Apri digitare CMD, quindi premere INVIO.
3. Digitare Tasklist /SVC, quindi premere INVIO.
Tasklist consente di visualizzare l'elenco dei processi attivi. L'opzione /SVC mostra l'elenco dei servizi attivi in ciascun processo. Se vedi che ci sono processi che non interessano puoi provare a terminare un svchost.exe, se risolvi e non succede niente lascia così altrimenti lo riattivi, non tutti i processi e Servizi sono necessari bisogna individuare quelli inutili.

Il log è a posto, vi sono solo troppe voci in avvio, inutili.
Chiudi tutti i programmi e disconnesso lanci HJT e clicca sul secondo pulsante: Do a system scan only poi metti la spunta alle voci che ti indico e alla fine clic su Fix checked:

Al momento ho risolto arrestando il servizio "aggiornamenti automatici " in start,esegui services.msc.
Pare si tratti di gravi difficolta' nell'installazione degli ultimi update microsoft per xp ormai giunti al termine con data fissata per aprile 2014.

concordo con la soluzione , e provero' a installare la patch grazie a tutti !

Salve a tutti, sono nuovo del forum, mi sono iscritto perchè anche io ho lo stesso problema, e non so come risolverlo, non so nemmeno come postarvi un eventuale log, domani mi metto, appena posso, a leggere se ci sono guide del forum così potrò postarvi tutto il necessario^^
Per il problema: ho un portatile con windows vista, e ho notato che da alcuni giorni quel maledetto svchost.exe, almeno una delle istanze (che tra l'altro occupa pochissima ram), ogni tot tempo va a 100% e ci rimane qualche attimo per poi ridiscendere e di nuovo risalire, fatto scansione con antivirus, ma non mi rileva nulla (avira antivirus).. Consigli?
